Together with our community, Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) is building a clean energy and water future that is reliable, affordable and resilient. Like utilities across the country, PWP is navigating rising costs driven by several key factors including aging infrastructure, grid modernization needs, and investments in new technologies such as Advanced Metering Infrastructure. Additionally, the cost of energy across all sources has been steadily increasing.

Following a nearly two-year comprehensive rate study and public engagement process, Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) presented proposed electric rate adjustments at the Pasadena City Council meeting on Monday, March 2. The public comment period for the proposed adjustments is now open. The City Council is scheduled to close the public hearing and consider the item on Monday, March 23.

To leave a public comment, visit CityOfPasadena.net/City-Clerk/Public-Comment, call the City Clerk’s Office at (626) 744-4124, or send correspondence to the Office of the City Clerk at 100 N. Garfield Avenue, Room S22.

While these electric rate adjustments address a broad range of operational and financial needs, they also support Pasadena’s long-term sustainability goal to source 100% carbon free electricity by the end of 2030. Your involvement in this effort is key because we believe that together, we are leading the way to a 100% carbon-free energy future that will benefit us all.
